I am pretty sure it’s bad form to comment on your own post but I am going to do it anyway since I want to save this update: my Mum’s best friend just read this and said that she remembers going to the same Hamam with my Mum years ago which is kind of amazing. To think she also lay naked on that marble slab, many moons ago. I wonder if she also had Nadia the aggressor!

My dear friend and Hamam buddy, I could not have said it better. Imagine if all women in the world had an ability to go lay on a warm marble slab, contemplate our similarities, acknowledge our brilliance, curiosity, and tenacity. I think the world would be in a better place. Thank you for 2 giggles of my 3 for today. Kocaman bir Türk sarılması! (a big Turkish hug to you) 🤗!

And laugh at our aging wobbly bits, don’t forget that! I am so grateful to you for organizing our Hamam adventure and beyond! 💜💜

Since Bay-to-Breakers was today, I was reminded all too well of the "wobbly bits" that were well on display as always. I love your determination for positivity. The technology age seems determined to tilt us toward rage, but really, we all just need to giggle more.

Okay, this my favorite one. I mean, can you believe how thorough they are?!?!? I can the same reaction: oh! I didn’t know you were allowed to do that. 🤣 Sounds like the perfect way to wrap your tour. ❤️

Thank you so much! It is always hard to know how my musings will land with people who don’t know me personally. And yes, Nadia should have her own following. I wish we were allowed phones in the Hamam just to capture her strength and determination. She took her job very seriously and has probably been doing it for years! I wonder what they all gossip about over tea after they have finished all their scrubbing duties. I live in a US liberal bubble and miss the history and culture that only places in Europe can offer. Thank you for listening and reading. 🙏
